Ladies and gentleman in two round-tables

conferencia de los pies a la cabeza

The multipurpose hall of the City Council in Calatayud (Zaragoza) was the venue chosen to hold its 3rd Sports and Values Day, last 4th September 2017. A discussion panel comprising eight speakers, all related to sports practice, set about a pair of round-tables packed with loads of talent and reflection. More than 50 people atttended the evening, all eager to listen and be listened.

Sports psychologist Lorena Cos is the heart and soul of this effort, which helps to further consolidate her as a referential figure on these matters in Aragón. Journalist Víctor Lorente joined in to act as co-captain of the event, which took an in-depth glance on to sports from a refereeing point of view. This was posible through the presence and expertise of three ex professional umpires: Celino Gracia, Carlos Clos and Carlos Sanz (ex asisstant referee). Lorena García, currently a hand-ball referee herself, also made a contribution.

This discipline was doubly represented, since Toño Cartón sprinkled his intervention with the same kind of creativity which used to make him one of the most prolific and efficient wings in spanish hand-ball in the last 15 years. Whilst Óscar Cruz, a jiu-jitsu U17 European Champion, brought an oriental and martial-arts approach to the evening. Our president, Javier Hernández, completed the cast. Besides looking back at his milestones as a Paralympic Diplomma Winner in swimming in London 2012, Javier reached the audience with his avant-garde testimony, based on sports, values, disability and cohabitation as primary coordinates.
